Price is not the safest way to choose

If your pregnancy carries added risk — a previous caesarean, twins, placenta praevia, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia — ask what level of NICU each hospital runs, whether an anaesthetist is on site around the clock, and whether it holds its own blood bank. A cheaper package at a hospital that has to transfer you mid-emergency is not cheaper. And most mothers pick their obstetrician first and deliver wherever that doctor practises.
