Why caesarean packages run longer
Elective caesarean is surgery. Hospitals price a longer room stay into the caesarean package — commonly one extra night versus normal delivery. That longer stay is still a package assumption: it does not cover complications, NICU, or a room upgrade. Room-tier prices, where published, are in room tier prices on maternity packages.
Extra nights and early discharge
Leaving a day early rarely refunds a full package night. Staying longer for pain control, wound care, jaundice observation, or feeding support usually adds a daily room rate. Ask the hospital for that daily figure before admission — it is often missing from the promo page.

Stay length is not the full bill
Night counts price the mother's room under uncomplicated terms. They do not settle specialist fees, epidural, after-hours surcharges, or a deposit paid months earlier. Cross-check specialist fees, epidural cost, and office hours before you treat the package night count as a budget ceiling.

- Is 2 days 1 night required for a normal delivery package?
- It is the pattern most private hospitals publish on their package pages. It is not a Ministry of Health rule. Your clinical stay can be shorter or longer; extra nights are usually charged outside the package.
- Does the baby’s NICU stay use the same night count?
- No. Package night counts are for the mother’s room under uncomplicated terms. NICU for the newborn is a separate bill line when needed.
